Glade Expressions

Wow! Just got invited into another campaign through BzzAgent - one for Glade Expressions!

I feel like my roommate and I are always buying Renuzit air cones or scented candles for the apartment - with two cats it can get pretty stinky! The air cones never last long enough, and we can't leave candles lit when we're not home, so it makes it hard to keep the apartment smelling nice. We haven't tried Glade yet, but I'm pretty excited for the opportunity to see how it holds up against cats!

UNREAL Candy

I just joined a campaign for UNREAL Candy - which is candy without the "bad-for-you" label! I'm REALLY excited to try these, I'm a huge candy eater!
I've seen these once before when I was shopping at Staples, but they're also sold at CVS, which is good to know - I'm always there buying something!

Dark Monk Review

I just finished The Dark Monk last night! Such an amazing book. I wasn't quite as hooked onto The Dark Monk as I was to The Hangman's Daughter, but I truely enjoyed both! I can't wait for the third book to be published! Anyway, so here's my review!

The Dark Monk, like The Hangman's Daughter, is a dark novel surrounding the mysteries of a small German town. In The Dark Monk, a local priest is found murdered by poison. His sister arrives into town shortly after, and the chase begins. The priest was killed because of his discovery of an ancient relic, and it's the job of his sister, the hangman and his daughter, and the young medicus to find out why.

In addition, the novel progresses through many small towns and monasteries, and the author has included his recollections of his trips to these locations. It's a neat addition that isn't normally seen in many books, and I really enjoyed learning some of the actual history of the locations visited in the story!

Overall The Dark Monk is a great read, and based off of the sneak peek into the next book, I'm sure I'll fall in love with that too!!

Hangman's Daughter Review

Finally finished The Hangman's Daughter!! It took me forever to get through it because it's just such a dark story, but it was amazing. I just started The Dark Monk last night and I'm already hooked again!! Anyway, here's my review!!

The Hangman's Daughter is a fantastic thriller about a hangman and his charge. The author keeps you guessing until the very end! The midwife of a small Bavarian town has been accused of witchcraft and murder. And though the hangman believes in her innocence, it's his job to torture a confession out of her. Can't say much more without spoiling the plot!

Operation Smile

I learned about Operation Smile through Smiley360.com!

It's a great program designed to help children with facial deformities get the volunteer medical help they need to get a great smile!! I've been following them on Facebook for awhile now, and it's so uplifting to see the photos and stories they share on their wall each day. I'm glad to know that programs like these exist to help children in need!

Dr. Oetker's Ristorante Pizza

I got the chance to try 2 varieties of Ristorante Pizza; Quattro Formaggi (four cheese) and Speciale (pepperoni and ham).
The four cheese pizza was delicious! The cheese really was separated into those little blobs, like the picture above, but it was delicious! Personally I'm not a fan of pepperoni pizza, and especially not with ham, but my roommate, who was a little hesitant to try it, really enjoyed it! They were unique but amazing, I haven't had any other pizza like it!
Although it's a little pricier than some other frozen pizzas, it's definitely worth it if you want high-quality, delicious pizza!!
